Yoga for Healthy Bones adapts traditional yoga postures into S.A.F.E. (Skeletally Appropriate For Everyone) movements. Open to students of all ages and abilities, it is particularly well suited to those with osteoporosis, osteopenia, low bone density, balance, posture and flexibility issues. Movements are done from least to most spinal compression with a priority on proper spinal alignment.
Classes are designed using Meeks Yoga Prep™ to elongate and strengthen the spine combined with balance poses to strengthen the hips and minimize risk of falls and fractures. Each session also includes breath work and guided meditation.
