Hatha Yoga

Hatha yoga provides an opportunity to stretch, unwind, and release tension.   I offer three versions: Slow Flow, Gentle and Chair. Each is suitable for all levels and ages and includes the use of props (blocks or belts to assist a posture or maximize a stretch).   Each practice begins with a gentle warm-up, advances to poses and ends with deep relaxation. Throughout every class, there is focus on breath and mindfulness.

In all sessions, we move slowly and deliberately from pose to pose remaining in each pose for several breaths.

 

Yoga Nidra

Yoga Nidra (also known as yogic sleep) is a simple yet powerful practice that relaxes and calms your body, mind and spirit.

When done earlier in the day, yoga nidra gives you a boost in energy.  Later day sessions can help you fall asleep and also deepen your sleep itself.

The class begins with a few moments of gentle seated and reclined poses and breath work. The remainder of the class is then done while lying on a mat with guided meditations, imagery and breathing.

Private Sessions

In your home or at the Middleburg studio, these classes are tailored specifically to you, your goals and abilities. Private lessons can be especially helpful to anyone new to yoga so that good and safe habits are established.  It can also be beneficial if you are interested in establishing your own home practice or need scheduling flexibility. Please call or email me for more information on scheduling your private session.

For Each Session:

  • Arrive a few minutes before class begins
  • Remove shoes and socks
  • Bring a yoga mat and blanket plus any yoga props you may have (i.e., straps or blocks).  DELAPLANE LOCATION ONLY
  • Wear comfortable, loose fitting clothing
  • Refrain from heavy eating two hours prior to the class starting time
  • Turn your cell phone off
