Slow Flow (Hatha) Yoga

Hatha yoga provides an opportunity to stretch, unwind, and release tension.   This class is suitable for all levels and ages and includes the use of props (blocks or belts to assist a posture or maximize a stretch).   Each practice begins with a gentle warm-up, advances to poses and ends with deep relaxation. Throughout every class, there is focus on breath and mindfulness.

In all sessions, we move slowly and deliberately from pose to pose remaining in each pose for several breaths.

 

Yoga for Bone Health

Yoga for Bone Health adapts traditional yoga postures into S.A.F.E. (Skeletally Appropriate For Everyone) movements.  Open to students of all ages and abilities, it is particularly well suited to those with osteoporosis, osteopenia, low bone density, balance, posture and flexibility issues.   Movements are done from least to most spinal compression with a priority on proper spinal alignment.

Classes are designed using Meeks Yoga Prep™  to elongate and strengthen the spine combined with balance poses to strengthen the hips and minimize risk of falls and fractures.  Each session also includes breath work and guided meditation.

 

 

 

Private Sessions

In your home, these classes are tailored specifically to you, your goals and abilities. Private lessons can be especially helpful to anyone new to yoga so that good and safe habits are established.  It can also be beneficial if you are interested in establishing your own home practice or need scheduling flexibility.
